5 Best Swimsuits For Tummy Coverage

Looking for a bathing suit with great tummy coverage? We’ve got you covered! While the tried-and-true one-piece will always be a good option, there are so many other great swimsuit style options that flatter the midseciton. From flirty one-pieces to flattering bikinis, this handy guide will walk you through our top 5 stylish swimsuit styles for flattering tummy coverage.

1. high-waist bikinis

Now hear us out: just because you want to conceal your stomach does not mean that you need to wear a one-piece. The key is in the cut of said two-piece swimsuit. Look for bikinis that have a higher rise and don’t cut you off too low on the tummy. High-waisted bikinis like the Blue and White Stripe Bikini with Moulded Cups are ideal for bikini lovers who want a little more tummy coverage. The striped bustier-style bikini top draws the eye upwards, while the high-waisted bottom features ruching in the front to minimize any bumps. Plus, it’s serving a seriously sassy retro vibe! Another great option is the Sapphire Blue Floral Bikini, which teams a molded-cup bikini top with another high-waisted bottom. There’s another benefit of that feminine floral print, too -- it subtly masks the stomach area with a bevy of blooms. The Yellow And Floral Tropical Print High-waisted Bikini combines elements of both of the previous bikinis. The scallop-edged yellow top and tropical-print bottoms have a glam vintage feel while offering all the benefits of full tummy coverage, plus ruching to boot. Something to note: dark colors minimize space, while light colors expand it.

2. one-pieces with strategic cutouts

Flattering the tummy region is like a game of hide-and-seek. You don’t want to bare the whole area, but sometimes plain one-piece swimsuits just don’t cut it. Instead, seek out swimsuit styles that have well-placed cutouts, like the Miss U Poppy Print One-piece Swimsuit. This monokini’s cutout sides help to narrow your waist and form curves. Plus, the self-tying back can be adjusted so that it doesn’t dig into your back. Adjustability here is important, because too-tight straps can cause unflattering bulges on pretty much everyone. The Time For You Dropped Shoulder One-piece Swimsuit is another idea if you’re going for the conceal-and-reveal method. An off-the-shoulder neckline and well-placed colorblocking build a balanced profile that can make an hourglass out of an apple. The little peek of skin at the top of your midriff breaks up the space beautifully, too.

Tankinis are the best of both worlds. All the tummy coverage of a one-piece with the flattering style of a two-piece. We especially love the peplum tankini, which flares out at the waist creating a slimming and stylish look. Go for a style like the Blue And Floral Tankini Bikini - peplum top cinches the waist, high-waisted bikini bottom for maximum coverage, and dark floral print to minimize and obscure the midsection area. So the focus stays up top where you want it! If you want tummy coverage and a slimming effect, look for vertical stripes on the bottom, like the Music City Print Bikini Set.

4. Anything with ruching

Do not underestimate the power of well-placed ruching. It really does make a difference! The Deep Red Wine Halter One-piece Swimsuit uses ruching to give you an alluring pin-up girl look. Notice how the majority of the ruching is right around the lower tummy area? That’s going to help disguise any bulging or bumps. Ditto with the Flowery Vale Ruched One-piece Swimsuit, which has all of those features plus another smart design detail: the floral print, which lends a camouflage effect to this clever mix. The halter neckline can be adjusted to your liking for creating a comfortable fit up top, too.

5. Self-tied styles FTW

This is the surfside equivalent of a wrap top, with all the same benefits. Styles like the Elegant Dance Solid One-piece Swimsuit tie at the side to create a ruching effect and cinch the waist. The low-cut v-neckline shows off enough skin to balance everything out and bring the eye upwards to your décolletage. Plus, it's totally adjustable for maximum comfort and comes in a bunch of different prints: Pink and Green Leaf Print, Navy and White Stripes, Red and White Stripes, Sunny Day Print, and Black and White Stripes. (See what your favorite print says about you.)

Last Hint: Be Yourself & Don’t Overthink It

After all, finding the right swimsuit is about finding what feels good!!!

I loved the Miss u poppy swimsuit. Was so disappointed when I tried it on it was so small at the top and fit perfect bottom half. I ordered a 8/10. Got to return it but wish I could get it. Im 36 top and don’t know what size to get.
