2019 FESTIVAL TRENDS
+THE ULTIMATE STYLING HACK

The Trend: Tie Dye
All over the spring 2019 runways and quickly adopted by street style stars, this is the trend we’re predicting gets the most play time. Incorporate it into your festival lewk with everything from 90s scrunchies to bangin’ bikinis. This trend works as well in front of the band as it does in front of the beach.

How To Wear It:
This look is accessible (and irresistible) to everyone: if you’re less of a fashion adventurer, dip your toe into the tie-dye trend with an accessory like a “dad snapback” cap. But our favorite way to incorporate it with a cool blue bikinis like the Blue Crush Tie-dye Bikini and the Tie-dye Blue Bikini Set . Pair them with some cutoffs -- maybe in a contrasting color if you’re ready to push some boundaries -- or under a gauzy dress with booties that you won’t mind roughing up.

Sidenote: Be aware that festivals can get really dusty at best and really muddy at worst, so it’s probably a good idea to leave your most expensive kicks at home.

If you’re more of a one-piece person, the Blue Tie-dye Graphic One-piece Swimsuit can be swapped in for a bodysuit. The plunging neckline is supported with double criss-crossing straps in the back and removable padded cups, so you can rock out with confidence.

When bright hues are your thing and you’re small-chested, go for the Colourful Tie-dye Bikini with its ultra low-cut top. This piece makes a fun substitute for a bra underneath a sheer top. Or catch the eye of every style-stalking paparazzi in range by topping it off with an open vest (we love retro-feeling faux-leather versions), oversized camo shorts and a ton of beaded necklaces. Just don’t blame us when everyone’s watching you instead of the show!

The Trend: Crochet
Broadcast that “I’m headed to a music festival” vibe with some well-placed crochet. You can always opt for allover lace or netting, but we’re totally feeling the 2019 interpretation of this trend, which is all about well-placed accents and add-ons.

How To Wear It:
More substantial and less twee than traditional lace, crochet is the ideal trend for those of us with a more feminine personal style: you can stay on trend without going too far out of your comfort zone. Take for example the Peony Print Lace Bikini. This two-piece is designed with off-white crochet trim that’s set against a swoony backdrop of a dark floral print. This would look so good with a flared skirt, a denim jacket and ankle boots for a country music festival. It’s the very definition of Nashville-inspired cuteness.

Prefer to rock out in a one-and-done monokini rather than bikini styles? The Hermosa Love Lace One-piece Swimsuit has similar styling--check out that contrasting crochet trim all down the front--and can be worn instead of a bodysuit. The single-color styling of the Vibrant Orange Braided Strap Bikini makes it a standout for your festival packing list, too. The crochet details on this bikini top are at the back. Those, along with the braided straps, lend an instant pop of color and texture to your outfit.

Finish your look with the Babe Waves Embroidery Cover Up. Festival pros know that a kimono top is key to the louche just-got-out-of-bed look, plus it’s good to have something to cover up your arms if the sun is super-strong.

The Trend: Boho Prints
What says festival dressing more than a bohemian prints? It’s the easiest way to turn your outfit up a few decibels, and you’re sure to see all kinds of unique patterns ranging from paisleys to ikat.

How To Wear It:
First and most importantly, pick the boho print that best represents your taste and your mood, and even what type of music you’ll be listening to! How cute would the Mystic Print Lace-up Bikini’s kaleidoscopic pattern be for an EDM fest? It’s more than convenient that the bra half of the bikini is long enough to sub for a crop top.

Play with the global-glam vibe of the Tropic Heat Bikini Set and contrast it with another geometric print on the bottom (think a midi-length skirt).

The mother of all boho prints, paisley, is another foolproof pick for festival dressing. The Summer Paisley Bikini Set playfully mixes paisleys on differently colored backgrounds for maximum impact. Try a neutral-hued crochet dress or coverup on top as a companion piece for this swimsuit, then put on finishing touches like a pair of oversized mirrored aviator shades. Another example of paisley perfection, the Tropical Paradise Reversible One-piece Swimsuit features the swirling, whirling pattern atop a light blue background, a color that looks especially amazing against darker skin tones.

The Trend: Cutouts
Dare to bare… but not too much. If you want to show skin but still (ahem) keep things covered, the cutout trend is for you. It’s been making the rounds in swimwear for a while, so there’s a good chance there’s already something in your closet that would fit the bill.

How To Wear It:
Let’s start at the shallow end of this trend, shall we? The Magenta Floral And Striped Wrap One-piece Swimsuit’s feminine charm tones down the peekaboo effect of the cutouts. We could see this one teamed with a long tiered skirt and flower crown for sure. If the floral print is a touch too girly for you, try the Water Ripple Wrap One-piece Swimsuit, which has a similar cut but features a print of sunlight dancing on the water. Pair it with a denim mini and combat boots for extra contrast.

Not loving prints? No worries: the Vibrant Yellow High Neck One-piece Swimsuit pulls off the same feel in a bright solid color that’s so easy to layer, it’s practically Festival Dressing 101. And for the bold woman who always choose dare over truth, choose the Magical Bowknot One-piece Swimsuit. Unique cutout midriff? Check. Lace-up details in the back? Uh-huh. Maximalist-friendly print? Of course. This style celebrates your individuality, ensuring you’ll be noticed in a sea of concertgoers.

The Trend: Smocked Texture
Smocking is back in a big way. This retro-inspired textural trend makes even the simplest of swimsuits look fresh. Since it’s often incorporated into sundresses, cropped tops and the like, smocked bikinis make an especially easy transition from waterfront to front row at an outdoor concert.

How To Wear it:
If you just want to repurpose your swimwear and play it off like it’s a regular top, we won’t judge. (We highly encourage it, actually.) The Spark Of Life Solid Bikini Set is a perfect option. Maybe it’s the dainty ruffles on the straps or maybe it’s the decorative buttons at the front, but there’s something totally “French girl” about this all-black ensemble.

The Paisley Love Bikini Set and the Summer Paisley Smocked Bikini can be worn with the straps for a sweet look, or alternatively as strapless tops for more smoulder. Wear these two bikinis with classics like denim cutoffs or go full-on retro with a slinky pair of knit bell bottoms. Take it over the top (in a good way) and complete the look with chunky, funky platforms.
